Moonee Ponds Creek Water Quality Characterisation

Melbourne City Council is determined to reduce their potable water use, and decrease stormwater runoff. To do this they are proposing a stormwater harvesting scheme to compliment existing irrigation schemes. The feasibility of the proposed irrigation scheme will be affected by two major constraints: the suitability of the water for irrigation and the permit conditions imposed by Melbourne Water. Suitability for irrigation will be determined by measuring water quality, with a particular focus on electrical conductivity levels.

Information from this project will inform Melbourne City Council on the optimal flow range for harvesting water suitable for irrigation purposes.
